Alan Rosling has been involved in India for thirty-plus, so he appreciates the realities of business in the country like no other foreigner. He is currently an entrepreneur and strategic adviser focused on India.
He co-founded Kiran Energy, one of India’s leading solar power developers, and led its business development during the pioneer phase of solar power in India.
Previously he was the first foreigner ever on the Board of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. He led the Tata Group’s internationalisation drive during a spurt of expansion overseas that saw Tatas becoming the largest industrial employer in the UK.
Earlier he was the Indian Chairman of the Jardine Matheson Group which encompassed financial services, India’s first supermarket chain and national car dealership, and a Mandarin Hotel in the Himalayas.
He was awarded a CBE in 2014 for services to British business in India.
