Aly Monroe

Aly Monroe is the author of the Peter Cotton series, set in the 1940s, which follows the development of a young intelligence agent.

Her first novel, The Maze of Cadiz was published in 2008 and is set in Spain, where she spent a large part of her life working as a teacher and translator.

The second in the series, Washington Shadow, was shortlisted for the CWA Ellis Peters Award, and the third, Icelight, was awarded the 2012 CWA Ellis Peters Historical Dagger.

​She has also published an ebook in the Peter Cotton series, Redeemable. The latest in the series, Black Bear, was published in 2013. She is presently working on a new standalone book, as well as the next Peter Cotton book.

Aly also teaches oral presentation and writing courses (creative and academic), and is editor and writing consultant for academic research groups in the UK and in Spain.

She is currently on the committee of the CWA.
