Jade Mutyora writes novels for teenagers and adults, poetry, short fiction and nonfiction. Her work appears in Fourteen poems, Spelt, SINK Magazine, Juno Magazine, ADDitude, Queer Out Here, Lolwe, The Selkie and others. She is an Obsidian Poetry Foundation Fellow.
Jade’s children’s stories about Phillis Wheatley, Ivory Bangle Lady and John Blanke feature in Scholastic’s Bedtime Stories: Beautiful Black Tales from the Past.
In 2020, she won first prize in Nottingham Writers Studio’s short story competition.
Jade’s novels have been shortlisted for the Northern Writers’ Arvon Award and Longlisted for the SI Leeds Literary Prize.
