Congratulations to Ed Crocker; ‘The Everlands’, his epic fantasy series, featuring an enticing cast of vampires, werewolves and sorcerers, has been sold to St. Martin’s Press in the US, in a deal negotiated by Helen Edwards on behalf of Harry Illingworth.

The first, Lightfall, will publish in January 2025.

Amélie Skoda

Manilla Press, part of Bonnier, has acquired a “vibrant” and “essential” novel by debut author, Amélie Skoda, in a deal negotiated by Abi Fellows. Entitled Bethnal Green*, an earlier draft was shortlisted for the 2021 Mo Siewcharran Prize.

Chris & Jen Sugden

The debut Sunday Times bestselling High Vaultage (Gollancz, March 2024) by husband-and-wife duo, Chris & Jen Sugden, has been selected as a Financial Times SFF pick for the summer.

Paul Waters

David Fennell

Finally, congratulations to David Fennell, who has seen the third in his ‘Grace Archer’ series, The Silent Man (Zaffre Books, August 2023), longlisted for the Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award 2024.

The award celebrates "compelling storytelling with brilliant characterisation and a distinct voice that is confidently written and assuredly realised in all genres".

The winner will be announced on 26th September, at Goldsboro’s 25th anniversary party, and will receive £2,000 and a handmade, engraved glass bell.
