Stela Brinzeanu

Stela Brinzeanu was born and raised in Moldova before moving to London in her late teens. After completing a degree in Media Studies at the University of Westminster, she worked as an interpreter and translator before embarking on a life-changing travelling experience and beginning to write in earnest.

Her work explores Eastern European culture and revolves around issues of identity, belonging, gender roles and the unity & interconnectedness of nature.

Stela also does consultancy work – she acted as a cultural advisor for the Amazon series ‘The Power’, based on Naomi Alderman’s book.

When not writing, Stela can usually be found running, practicing Taekwondo or, more likely, baking polenta cakes.
