Mel Sherratt

Mel Sherratt has worked a variety of jobs – bank teller, housing officer and a training and development consultant to name a few – but she has always been a writer at heart. There isn’t a day that goes by where she doesn’t have a pen in her hand, and a book to read nearby.

Mel predominantly writes crime fiction and psychological suspense across multiple series and has sold two million books. Shortlisted for the prestigious CWA (Crime Writer's Association) Dagger in The Library Award, she is writing her twenty-second novel. She regularly appears at festivals, conferences and events across the country.

Her best-known series stars Detective Allie Shenton and takes you to the heart of the crime – dark fiction with an emotional pull.

Mel lives in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with her husband and terrier, Dexter (named after the TV serial killer) and makes liberal use of her hometown as a backdrop for most of her books.
