David H Headley

Managing Director & Literary Agent

Status: CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS

After a great deal of thought, I have decided to close my submissions for the time being.

I remain as passionate as ever about discovering and championing new writers. However, my responsibilities to my existing clients mean that I simply do not have enough time to consider new work with the care and attention it deserves.

I know how much hope, work and courage go into every submission. It would be unfair to continue inviting writers to send me their work when I cannot respond within a reasonable timeframe.

I am fortunate to have some amazing colleagues at DHH, several of whom remain open to submissions, and I would warmly encourage writers to explore their profiles and submit to the agent who feels like the best fit for their work.

I will review the position when my capacity allows, but for now I will not be accepting new submissions. Thank you for your understanding.

David is currently CLOSED for submissions.

Please send your cover letter, one-page synopsis and first three chapters as attachments; not in the body of the email.

Due to an overwhelming amount of submissions, David is unable to respond to every submission individually. He will only respond to submissions he is interested in exploring further.
