Rachel Edwards

Rachel Edwards is a Black British author of contemporary fiction. Following on from the success of her acclaimed debut, Darling, published in 2018, and Lucky, published in 2021 (4th Estate, HarperCollins), she continues to write ambitious, ideas-driven narratives, which also explore her Jamaican-Nigerian heritage, through her compelling novels.

Rachel appears at literary festivals and events around the UK. Her articles have featured across the national media including in the Guardian and a popular lead column in The Sunday Times Magazine. She is a regular guest on BBC Radio, including BBC Berkshire and BBC Radio Somerset and she has featured twice on BBC Radio Four Woman’s Hour, where she delighted in memorable probings by Jenni Murray.

She lives in a 17th century farmhouse on the Levels with her husband, their beloved Retriever, Cassie, and chickens Billie, Etta, Toni, Maya and Alice, all of whom who give her wings as she writes her third novel.
