Tom Hindle

It was a very happy publication day for four of our authors last week, beginning with the latest murder mystery from Tom HindleMurder on Lake Garda (PRH Century). The Daily Mail has called Tom "the heir to Christie" and we can see why - no pressure...!

Kathleen Whyman

Would You Ask My Husband That? (Embla Books, August 2023) by Kathleen Whyman was reviewed over the past weekend in the Sunday Express magazine:

"A witty, honest look at juggling family, marriage and careers."

Gareth Brown

Thrilled that South Korean rights to Gareth Brown's forthcoming debut, The Book of Doors (PRH Transworld, February 2024) have been sold to Moonhak Soochup Publishing, while Ukrainian rights have sold to Fabula.

Stuart Turton

Author of The Woman in the Window, A. J. Finn, has given a fantastic quote for Stuart Turton's forthcoming novel, The Last Murder at the End of the World:

"A mind-bending, genre-blending, boy-that-ending mystery unlike any I've ever read. It's as though Agatha Christie and Stephen King had jointly rebooted Lost."

The book, which is out from Bloomsbury Raven in March 2024, has already sold in over ten territories across the globe, and picked up a plethora of incredible praise, including being included in the BBC's list of 'Books to Look Forward to in 2024':

"Stuart Turton, author of the mammoth-selling The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, returns in March with a post-apocalyptic murder-mystery."

Gareth Brown & James Goodhand

Both Murder on Lake Garda and Voyage of the Damned were reviewed by the Herald last week:

"Whether or not he is the “new heir to Agatha Christie” (and that’s quite a label to be hung around your neck), there’s no doubt that Hindle has quickly established himself as a reliable purveyor of old-fashioned crime fiction thrills."

"The joy of Voyage of the Damned comes in the way White never loses sight of the characters at the heart of her novel in the middle of her (rather deft) world-building. It also helps that the book is both funny and flirty as it deals with issues of class, snobbery and sexuality amongst all the magic and murder. The result is hugely entertaining."

Rebecca Thorne

Also out last week was the phenomenal The Grief House by Rebecca Thorne (Bloomsbury Raven). The book has been hailed as "beautifully written" by heat magazine, "bewitching" by Anna Bailey and "deeply heartfelt" by Chris Whitaker.

Frances White

Our next publication day celebration last week, was for Frances White's debut, Voyage of the Damned (PRH Michael Joseph). A magical, mind-blowing adventure with a twist you won't be able to guess!

Sunyi Dean, author of The Book Eaters said of the book: "Absolutely bloody brilliant! Clever and comedic while also heartfelt and harrowing."

Emma Medrano

The final publication day celebration comes in the form of Emma Medrano's debut, Nothing Serious, a searing and propulsive exploration into loneliness and how far we'll go to forge a connection with others. The Daily Mail called the book "raw and compelling" while Red magazine said "thought-provoking [and] quietly devastating."
